10 Things We Were Hate About Toto Asia

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as a market that would grow for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words so that the next generation could be able to read the words. Many words were replaced by foreign words. For example dui, which was Bengali for verandah was being used.

Origins

Incorporated in 1917, Toto's early years mirrored Japan's economic growth. In the beginning, Toto produced products to meet the growing demand for modern, new urban housing. To achieve this, it used the first tunnel kiln in the nation to make ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered the use of automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and a more consistent production.

The company began expanding its operations overseas in the latter part of the 1980s to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and marketing other manufacturers' products to complement its own range of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the company's market share in the world.

In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development for water-related household appliances. It also upgraded its system of distribution to better serve customers and improve profit. The company employed the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management and sales program. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example is equipped with a powerful tornado flush that is more environmentally green than traditional toilets. Toto also makes use of recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green procurement policy. Toto also produces bathtubs, faucets, and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than typical models.

The first museum of the company opened in 2015 and features exhibits about Toto's iconic products and their development and its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the historical background of plumbing and products such as bath units and, in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum has the bathroom equipped with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.

Before the formation of Toto the band, members of the group did sessions for many musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name like Asia you'd think that the group would be prog kings and queens but they're actually a fairly simple rock group. The group started out as a group and recorded two albums: 1979's self titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a diverse musical background, but their biggest success came in 1982 when they released Toto IV.

The album was a major blockbuster but not without its issues. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to deliver a hit single or they would drop them. Luckily for Toto, they did with the aid of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experiences. Before forming the group, members worked as session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for  the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly build their hooks into your. The album also contains jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album ends with Great Expectations. This song blends folk and distortion AOR, which should seem like a complete blunder, but is very effective.

After Toto IV, the band's fortunes began to wane. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band went through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the group due to drug charges. The band continued with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. The group managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Steve Lukather has forged a rich, deep friendship with Joe Williams that is flourishing professionally around the globe. In 2018 the duo celebrated 40 Tours Around the Sun with a wildly successful global tour. The album that bears the same name reached #5 on Billboard 200. The new tour by the band includes their best hits and rarely played live deep cuts, along with a selection of songs from Lukather and Williams the catalogs of their respective albums.

Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet format of previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the growth of the band. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard playing was also sharper, more complex and less akin to previous recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live concert that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released their new studio album a few months later and embarked on a tour around the world to support it. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old tapes and demos for a new record featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in the form of a double-album called Then & Now in 2001. It was the first album in the history of the band not to feature a single song with the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial flop and the vocalist Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis condition which hampered his singing. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived.  토토 꽁머니 , with the exception of Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
